Son of man vs Son of God, the difference!

I once thought there were only children of God, that all humans were God's children, and that Jesus came to save everyone. Then I realized that Jesus actually came to save the lost sons of God. That is why He continually refers to "My sheep know My voice," and why He told the parable of the lost son. From the very beginning, references are made to the sons of God. Many people believe they were angels, but God never refers to angels as sons; He simply calls them His ministers.

So in this world, we have two kinds of human beings at play. What they believe, how they work, how they live, and how they die are completely different ways of existence.

I will explore, as I am led, these two beings, finally shedding light on what to expect. In this mixed world, sons of God should know who they are, how they are supposed to live, and remove themselves from trying to assimilate with the sons of men and their systems. These systems have caused many sons of God to live difficult lives because they are shut out by them. I will also explore how they can discover themselves and thrive in the Kingdom of God, which is their true system.

Sons of Men

  • Born of man and will die as man.
  • Men of the kingdom of darkness.
  • They have limited time; after death comes judgment.
  • They operate according to worldly laws and thrive within them.
  • Loved by the world and its systems.
  • They earn to spend and accumulate what they cannot keep.
  • They earn from the cursed ground through sweat and may receive assistance from the kingdom of darkness, though God's blessings still reign upon them.
  • There is no salvation for their souls, so they make use of whatever the world can provide to make them happy for a while.
  • They believe they are masters of their own lives, yet are manipulated by the kingdom of darkness from within.
  • They chart their own paths and visions, striving to achieve them, believing these things will bring fulfillment to the emptiness inside. Yet the more they pursue them, the more unfulfilled they become.
  • They believe in themselves as providers and protectors, and so they are constantly stressed, for no man was created to be a provider—only a steward.
  • They long for fulfillment, so they wander into charity, worldly pleasures, and many pursuits in an attempt to quench that thirst.
  • They are led by their hearts and minds.
  • They may be successful at everything they do, for the devil has them exactly where he wants them—never turning to God. The systems of the world may work very well for them because they belong to them.
  • They are controlled by the fear of death and loss and are anxious about tomorrow. This is what keeps them awake at night.
  • They cannot precisely answer the question, "What is enough?"
  • The longer they live, the more bitter they become as they realize that everything is ultimately empty.
  • Since their hearts have no true release, they grow weaker over time, and loneliness troubles them.
  • They have no hope.
  • They have never experienced true joy, only temporary happiness.
  • They do not know how to live. Though they may be morally good in some ways, their moral values cannot ultimately be relied upon because they are not anchored in anything greater than themselves.

Sons of God

  • Born as sons of men but become sons of God through adoption.
  • Their lives do not belong to them but to God, for they are yoked with Jesus.
  • Their purpose and vision are to do the will of God and dwell in His presence.
  • Their joy does not come from clear plans, visions, or ideas, but from walking with God and being led by the Holy Spirit.
  • Their joy does not come from accomplishments, happiness, or wealth, but from the LORD Himself.
  • They are men of the Kingdom of God.
  • They are eternal and not limited by time, for they do not truly die but sleep until awakened or rested by God.
  • They spend in order to receive.
  • They own nothing, for even they themselves belong to God.
  • They live and work according to the laws of the Kingdom of God, which operate completely opposite to the kingdom of darkness.
  • They are not led by their hearts or minds but by the Holy Spirit.
  • The LORD is enough. God showers them with abundance, not so they may keep it for themselves, but so they may share it with others.
  • They are not providers but stewards. Therefore, the possessions they have do not dwell in their hearts but remain outside of them.
  • They are not mere men. They are sons of God, both divine in calling and human in nature.
  • They are powerful because of their divine inheritance, but their greatest challenge is uncovering and walking in the fullness of their identity.
  • They do not belong to the world; they belong to the Kingdom of God. Therefore, the world can never fully accept them.
  • They radiate God's love and are therefore capable of truly loving.
  • They need to fully know who they are. Otherwise, they remain in the middle—not fully part of the world, often rejected by it, yet not fully established in the Kingdom of God. As a result, they end up serving their Father without fully experiencing the provision available through His Kingdom.
  • They may not appear to be people of the Kingdom of God, especially when they are lost and not yet found. Yet the kingdom of darkness knows exactly who they are and works tirelessly to ensure they never discover it, so that they may share the same fate.
