The Power That Lives Inside of You

It's funny the way we see a person possessed by demons can burst into things, break heavy chains, and right there, we know it's not that person's physical strength that makes him do all those things.

Mark 5:1–20

“A man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him.” Mark 5:2–4

But

We can't seem to comprehend the power of God's Spirit, who is the mighty Creator of Heaven and Earth. “I AM WHO I AM” — Yahweh, living in us.

It's funny the way we read how God hardened Pharaoh's heart to cause him to rebel against God, so that God might show His power to the whole world.

“But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said to Moses.” Exodus 9:12

Yet, we don't trust Him to produce the fruit of the Spirit in us, to cause us to become more like Him every day.

“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” Ezekiel 36:27

He even went further to say He will cast away our hearts of stone and give us a new heart.

And yet we easily crawl back to our teachers, pastors, and priests and say what the Israelites said:

“And said to Moses, ‘Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.’” Exodus 20:19

By memorizing laws and trying to walk in them while casting away relationship with the Holy Spirit, and that saddens the Holy Spirit greatly.

You turned into laws which were meant to mean:

“YOU CAN'T DO THIS ALONE. YOU NEED ME IN YOU.”

The law can stop you from doing harm to your neighbour, but can't stop you from hating him or lead you to do good to him.

How can you love your neighbour greatly as you love yourself, while you haven't experienced the fruit of the Spirit in you, as you constantly want to hear Him speak from your pastor but never from yourself?

You don't know how it feels to God when you walk in the valley of the shadow of death and you fear death...

Until

One day, you are walking with your son and it gets dark, and he starts to run away from you, as he doesn't feel safe or protected by you.

It's disrespectful to God when you fear death while the power of resurrection lives inside of you.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?’” John 11:17–44

We were not selected at random. We were called by Name, to come to God the Father and to walk with Him through Jesus Christ and be One with Him through the Holy Spirit.

“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:44

The Power that lives inside of you can transform you, fill you up, and make you whole again, but if you allow it, surrender to it, and it needs no help from:

your pastor,

your prophet,

your so-called spiritual father,

And it just needs one answer:

THE RESPONSE

Your “Yes.”

“The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ Then Samuel said, ‘Speak, for your servant is listening.’” 1 Samuel 3:10
